Review: Maybelline Hyper Curl Volum' Express Mascara

It's been a long time since I've posted here in my blog. Sorry for being MIA lately. But fret not 'cause here's another review just for you! Let's talk about this mascara that's been widely available in local department stores. It's none other than the Maybelline Hyper Curl Volum' Express Waterproof Mascara. Here it is.

As you can see, it's still a pretty decent mascara considering its inexpensive price. Speaking of the price, I tend to buy cheap/inexpensive mascaras because we all know that mascaras should be replaced every 3 months because of the bacteria it accumulates that can be transmitted to our eyes. So why buy expensive and luxurious mascaras when you can have the cheaper ones with even better quality? You don't have to splurge if it isn't necessary. Ang hirap-hirap na ng buhay ngayon noh! Anyway, let's get back. This one is also buildable as long as you apply the next coats while it's still wet. So for all the cheapskates out there, this can be a good substitute if you'd like to have long and thick lashes that expensive mascaras provide as well. A light hand can do the trick. :)

Tip: When applying, always wiggle the wand from left to right to prevent clumps, and to add volume as well.


Pros:

• waterproof
• inexpensive at Php250
• doesn't flake
• good staying power
• doesn't smudge so raccoon eyes aren't a problem
• widely available at Watsons and in all leading department stores

Cons:

• may build clumps if not applied correctly.
• may look unnatural
• tends to weigh down lashes
• mascara wand can't reach the inner corner of the lashes
• doesn't hold curl for a long time
