Review: Sophie Magic Pink Cream

Alas! I finally got my most coveted cheap yet gorge magic cream blush from Sophie Martin. I just bumped into one of its stores in Farmers Cubao while doing some bargain hunting, and as impulsive as I usually am, i bought it, with one of the ladies there saying "Maganda yan, tumatagal sya. Yung mga officemates ko nga kung umorder saken tatlo-tatlo." (That's pretty, and long lasting as well. My officemates tend to buy 3 pieces from me.) So I was sold.

It's really a tiny tube but trust me, its pigmentation is just so surprising!

A white cream that turns into a hint of pink when swatched on the skin

I also love how the expiration date is clearly stamped on the tube.

Swatches. Look how it turned into a subtle hint of pink.

I left the left line unblended for a few minutes, and when I tried to blend it, this is how it turned out.

And with all the washing and soaping, there's still a slight hint of color, as you can see.

So with all the swatches and test, who am I to say that this inexpensive cream blush is just nothing but a cheap product? Come on, this is a hella great cream blush that I'm still digging up to now. And for the record, this baby lasts all day. Seriously, I don't need to retouch nor bother if it has done mess to my cheeks. With all the dirt, smoke, oil, and sweat that I face everyday, this really withstands the test of those bastards. So, are you also sold? :P

Pros:
  • cheap! Got this for Php85.00, but i think this costs Php70.00 for Sophie members. Not quite sure though.
  • amazingly long lasting!
  • gives a natural rosy glow onto the skin
  • nicely pigmented and buildable
  • simple yet cute packaging, w/c also comes with a box
  • smells really girly

Cons:
  • small. This is only 10ml (but for the price, better not to complain :D)
  • Easily stains on the skin. has to be fast when applying
  • Has parabens
  • Not widely available. But you can buy this online, at Sophie Paris main branch in Mandaluyong, and from the other resellers on booth. Mine was from Sophie booth in Farmers Cubao

Rating: 4.5/5

Hey! Have you used or still using this one? What are your thoughts? Share! :)

Etude House' Dear Darling Tint in #01

So, my HG lip tint got a make over? Well, this can be a good idea, however, please continue reading this post.

Ok, so as what I'm saying, my favorite lip tint from EH got a new packaging, thus making me dizzy when I was trying to find it at the EH counter because 1) it got a new look; 2) it got bucks higher; and lastly 3) my shade is not available. haha! You know how it feels when you're looking for a certain thing then it's not available when you really need it the most? Ugh. Because of that, I searched for reviews of lip tints that are most likely having the quality of this one. But, when I was in MOA and ready to buy from this another oh so cute Korean cosmetics shop, I just still reconsidered EH, just because I love this shop. And there I was, buying again my HG lip tint, but in different shade of course and I got the 01 shade which is the berry red.

 L-R: shade 01, shade 02 (check here)

Onto the lips, it looks more of a dark fuchsia than pink and red. I like it, but not to the extent that I love it because I noticed that the improved version fades easily unlike the old one. And yeah, I still prefer red on my lips, which the shade 02 provides (review here). And as I was typing this post, i remembered the SA telling me that this new packaging is mas pinaganda or well improved. Well, i don't think so. As I said, this fades easily like hell. And oh, the price got higher. The old one cost P198, and this, P228. Anyway, I still love Etude House and their cutesy but oh so nagmamahal na products. I still hope they will have more items on sale though. :)

Review: Garnier Face Powder

Hello lovelies! It's Friday again and I'm hoping for a great weekend. Hihi. Anyway, let me share with you a review about a certain face product which is the Garnier Light Visible Whitening Face Powder. I got the Ivory shade (01) which is the lightest shade btw.

So, what's with the product?

It's formula combines:

  • strong UV protection SPF18 to prevent skin from further darkening and dark spots appearance
  • oil-free texture that absorbs excess oil up to 6 hours.
- fragrance-free / non-comedogenic / non drying -

The powder is really fine. That said, no caking and chalking.

Powder puff is thin, yet so soft and great to use.

Can you notice how it brightens the skin without making it look chalky or ghostly?

In all honesty, the first time I used this, it really didn't impress me because I thought the shade that I got is darker than my skin tone which is silly because I got the lightest shade. But when I tried it using my damp Marionnaud brush, I was like, seriously? It's much more effective if I use a damp brush 'cause it just looks flawless than not. I'm impressed with the coverage, no shimmers, just matte texture. It also brightened my face and continue its job even after how many hours. So yeah, I learned that there are just tricks if you want something to look amazing. :) But the downside is, it didn't make me oil-free for up to 6 hours. But still, I love this product. :)

Pros:
  • true to its promise, it really gives a flawless coverage
  • has Vitamin C
  • finely milled
  • glides smoothly
  • brightens and evens out skin tone
  • with SPF18 for strong UV protection
  • didn't make me look dark even at the end of the day unlike my Maybelline Face Powder
  • accdg. to my sister when she tried it, it surprisingly made her face oil-free even after 6 hours, no touch ups needed. but unfortunately that didn't apply on me.
  • didn't irritate my skin
  • the puff included is so soft and thin, yet picks out the product well, but I still love using my Marionnaud brush for precise application
  • widely available even in supermarkets
  • inexpensive. Php199.00

Cons:
  • didn't control oil (after 3 hours of use)
  • I've read in the ingredients those 3 paraben stuff.

Rating: 4/5
Will I repurchase? Why not? :)

Note: We all have different skin types. Some products might work for me but not for you, and vice versa.

Review: Celeteque Facial Moisturizer

Moisturizers weren't actually included in my skin care routine, but that was before. Learning that it can help decrease fine lines and wrinkles, and gives you a soft and supple skin, I bought one that is just light on my budget since I'm going to test it first whether it will give me breakouts or not. Btw, I've used one before, which was the Myra E (red one) and I keep on forgetting on putting it because I thought it's just unnecessary, and it really made my face oily. But still, I know how important on keeping your skin hydrated. Okay, so this is what I've bought.

How Celeteque DermoScience HYDRATION Facial Moisturizer Works
  • Celeteque DermoScience HYDRATION Facial Moisturizer has a unique hydrogel formulation that provides the skin with optimum hydration without the greasy after-feel.
  • Its triple moisturizing system contains Glycerin, Pro-Vitamin B5, and Aloe Vera that work deep down to provide lasting relief from skin dryness.
  • Has Dimethicone that seals in the skin's moisture
  • Leaves you with soft, smooth, and supple skin

The consistency is somewhat watery but with a gel texture

Whenever I put this after cleansing my face, I feel fresh and hydrated. It doesn't make my face feel heavy and oily, which is really great since I bought this with high hopes of making me feel light yet moisturized. Btw, this one is the water-based type. They also have another moisturizer which has sunscreen for ultimate sun protection. The scent is also refreshing, as if you just got out of the shower. And when I touch my face, it feels so smooth and supple, and I must say that Celeteque delivers its promise, and it lived up to my expectations.

Pros:
  • keeps my skin hydrated
  • gives soft, smooth, and supple skin
  • doesn't have a greasy after-feel
  • doesn't make skin oily
  • has a refreshing scent although it is said to be fragrance-free
  • water-based and oil-free
  • dermatologist tested
  • non-comedogenic and hypo-allergenic
  • expiration date is easily seen
  • inexpensive at Php127.00(50 mL)
  • available at Watsons and at most department stores
Cons:
   Can't think of any
