Review: The Body Shop's Lip and Cheek Dome

Blush review again guys! I've never actually bought cosmetics at TBS since I heard they are better with skincare rather than with cosmetics, plus they are all pretty expensive. But since they were recently on sale, I grabbed the opportunity to purchase this lip and cheek dome I've been so curious to try for a fraction of the price. Ok, so it's actually my sister who bought it for me. Hehe!

I got the shade in 21 Crazy for Coral

A cream blush that glides onto the skin smoothly

Swiped a gazillion times to show its true color :|

Personally, I think this product has poor pigmentation, considering the fact that I can't show you how coral-ly it is in just a few swipes. But since the color is so cute and I'm currently keeping away from the ultimate pink blush, I use this to make my powder blush last longer. I just top it off with my Careline Peach Glow blush, or sometimes theBalm's Hot Mama. But there's one thing that hinders me from using it, and it's the scent. When I let my dad smell this, he said it smells like an old lipstick. I don't know, but it's worse than that. I just forgot what exactly it is, but I know that smell, and it's really awful. But then, if you're not that scent-sensitive, you might want to try this, and better hurry because it's in limited edition! It's also available in a pink shade, namely Pinch Me Pink, which the SA really wanted on me, just saying. :D

Pros:
  • pretty color!
  • can be used on lips (though it looks chappy on my dry lips)
  • easy to blend
  • yay for cruelty-free makeup!
  • glides smoothly onto the skin
  • cute, easy-to-swipe-on-your-face packaging
  • lightweight, as if you don't have anything on
  • got it on sale! P895 but got it for only P268.50; 10ml. Yay!

Cons:
  • ooh the smell!
  • had a hard time in putting back the lid without denting the cream blush :(
  • fades easily
  • not suited for oily gals

Rating: 3/5

Review: Pinkies Collections' Eyebrow Cake

Another accidental purchase to share with you guys! My first ever eyebrow cake, which I totally recommend for not only to the cheapskates like me, but for all the girls out there who's totally addicted into their eyebrows. :)

I recall the SA saying that it's under James Cooper cosmetics.

The color I got is in Tan-Beige or EBC-03

This kit is so small, perfect for on-the-go gals just like me :)

L: lighter shade; R: darker shade (obvious ba? :D)

I've been using this for almost a month now and so far, I love that it's so convenient to use, may it be dry or wet. And what I love is that I can also use this as an eye shadow. I'd like to sweep the lighter shade on my creases, and the darker on the outer V. Oh, I also use the darker shade for setting my eyeliner just to make it last longer, and to prevent smudging as well. The only thing I dislike is the casing. It's cute but then, I'd prefer my kits looking smart or gorgeous, if not professional. But for the price, this product is totally a hit!

Pros:
  • perfectly small and lightweight
  • the shades are perfect for my eyebrow color
  • in powder form so it can be used wet or dry
  • cheap! retails for only P169.00; 3g
  • available at SM department stores

Cons:
  • no brush and mirror included
  • sometimes I have a hard time opening the case
  • casing can get really messy (lid is now full of scratches)

Rating: 3.9/5

I know it's late, but I just want to greet us a wonderful 5th anniversary! I love you so much honey. You are and will always be truly special in my heart. Thank you for being so humble, so forgiving that sometimes I deliberately abuse your kindness (and I'm sorry for that!). I just love you, that's what I really want to say. Cheers to a fruitful 5 years of loving, to infinity and beyond!

Review: theBalm Hot Mama

So excited to share with you my newest addition to my blusher addiction, hihi. This time, it's a combination of peach and pink with tiny specks of gold into it. I'm really in love with the color! It's none other than theBalm Hot Mama Blush. (Thanks boyfie! )

It's enclosed in a cardboard which to my surprise is kinda sturdy, though it easily gets messy because of the powder remnants.

The texture is slightly leaning from buttery to powdery

Slim, magnetic packaging perfect for traveling I can just toss it into my purse!

A warm peachy/coral shade that's great with any skin tone. It also has micro specks of gold which provides a subtle luminance, making our skin glow under the sun.

 Bottom: blended

I realize I often reach for this product that I think I need to buy one again for backup. :D Don't blame me, it's really a great product. Pigmentation is superb that even just dipping your brush can do a whole lot of transformation to a dull, lifeless skin. And the gold iridescence can make your skin glow, without looking much of a walking disco ball. Just healthy, gorgeous skin. I'm totally in love with not just this, but with most of the theBalm products. They may be kinda expensive, but they utterly deliver brilliant results. And one more thing, it can also be used as an eye shadow. I love using it in my lids for a more glamorous effect. :)

Pros:
  • highly pigmented!
  • blend-ability ("is it a term?" it is, now :D ) is great!
  • can be used not only as a blush, but also as an eye shadow
  • beautiful shade that has a gold iridescence to it
  • can also be used as a highlighter
  • long wearing
  • slim packaging that feels sturdy enough
  • has a mirror that's big enough

Cons:
  • expensive for P775.00; 7.08g  (Got it as a Christmas gift from the bf :) )
  • casing can attract dirt from the powder residue

Rating: 5/5 (Though it has two disadvantages, I really really love this product. Seriously, I think I'll be buying again if ever I hit the pan, but then it has a lot of product on it, so I guess this will last me for a long time.)

I definitely recommend this to y'all, especially if you're looking for a gorgeous shade that will compliment any skin tone, you know, perfect for lending to girlfriends! :)
